Rosa Kentwood
Paediatric Occupational Therapist
Rosa is a qualified Dance Movement Psychotherapist (DMP). I first trained as a dance artist, providing meaningful movement experiences that allowed participants the opportunity to express themselves creatively. My interest and passion has always been providing therapeutic provision for people who might have less ability or inclination to communicate verbally. I have experience working with people who have disabilities, the preverbal and those living with dementia. I have also spent time working with the Deaf community and can offer provision using British sign language. My work as a Dance Therapist has included working alongside children and their families and I love to witness the positive changes that take place. I particularly enjoy working with preschool aged children as DMP is inherently understood.I have also worked for many years as a respite foster carer which led me to pursue a career as a therapeutic practitioner and informs the way in which I work with young people.
I hold a Masters in Dance Movement Psychotherapy (Canterbury Christ Church University), a degree in Choreography and Dance (Winchester University) and a certificate in Community Dance Facilitation (Laban). I have training in Sherbourne Developmental Movement; level 1 and 2. I also hold qualification in Deaf Studies including BSL level 1, 2, 3 and pre level 6.
