Sensi Reopening
Below is a list of the post COVID questions about Sensory Integration Therapy Reopening
Are you ‘allowed’ to be open?
With a very few exceptions, the government has not required any businesses to close to the public – it is important for business to carry on.
It is at the discretion of employers as to how staff can continue working safely. Working from home is one way to do this, and our staff will be doing their administration work from home, but workplaces can also be made safe by following COVID-19 Secure guidelines.
What are the ‘COVID-19 Secure’ safety guidelines that you have to put in place?
In line with Government advice we have set out clear, practical steps to ensure SenSI is COVID-19 Secure and give our staff the confidence to return back to work.
These include how to keep as many people as possible safely apart from those they do not live with.
We have made SenSI a one way building. You will enter through the waiting room, be escorted to your session and then leave either via your therapy room or our exit.
We have staggered our appointment times to ensure that there are not too many people arriving and leaving at any given time. This also means that the amount of people walking through the building at any given time will be significantly reduced and therefore reducing the risk of disease transmission.
We have introduced Zoono – a professional cleaning system which is an residual antimicrobial protection technology – information on this is on our website
We will be limiting the amount of people in the building at any given time
Staff will be working remotely (not in the building) where possible or necessary
We will be risk assessing everyone who attends SenSI for assessment or treatment both before an appointment is offered and on arrival on the day of your appointment. This includes a 14 day history of illness and symptoms and a non invasive, no contact temperature measurement
Our staff will be adhering to an enhanced Infection Control and Prevention Policy, this includes sanitising equipment and high touch areas in between sessions.
We have replaced the snack cupboard with a choice board and your therapist will supply the chosen items rather than all children having access to touching the snacks available..
We have limited phone sharing
We will be restricting staff movement though the building and staging lunch break timings
We will be limiting access to some parts of the building and have rules in place for how many people should be in these spaces at any given time
All clients, unless clinically necessary, will be accompanied by only one adult, siblings are currently not allowed to attend.
If the accompanying adult is not required in session, they will be asked to wait in their own car.
What are the ‘COVID-19 Secure’ safety guidelines that you have to put in place?
Residual antimicrobial protection technology will be applied to all surfaces and touchpoints.
We may open doors and windows to increase ventilation
The Swimming pool is maintained and tested both by professional management company and through local daily testing
Changing facilities will not be available for showering, clients will arrive in swim gear and change straight into dry clothes after the session.
Equipment and surfaces will be cleaned between clients.
Hot tub and Steam Room will not be used.
How have you made it safe to use the Swimming Pool for my child's session?
Residual antimicrobial protection technology will be applied to all surfaces and touchpoints.

Do I need to stay 2 metres apart – or 1 metre?
People should either stay 2 metres apart or ‘1 metre plus’ – which is one metre plus mitigations that will help to prevent transmission. Some of our staff may be wearing masks or visors. If they are not they will stay 2m apart.
We will ask you to wash and sanitise your hands before and after your appointment.
How will health and safety regulations be enforced?
Where the enforcing authority, such as the Health and Safety Executive or the local authority, identifies employers who are not taking action to comply with the relevant public health legislation and guidance to control public health risks (for example, not completing a new risk assessment taking account the risk of COVID-19, or taking insufficient measures in response), they will consider a range of actions to improve control of workplace risks. This includes giving specific advice to a business, or issuing an improvement notice, which a business must respond to in a fixed time, or a prohibition notice. Failure to comply is a criminal offence, which can lead to fines or imprisonment for up to two years, giving the COVID-19 Secure guidelines indirect legal enforceability.
Local authorities also have new powers to close any premises if they believe it necessary to help prevent transmission of COVID-19.
Our risk assessment is on our website. We are transparent as a company and if you have any specific questions, comments or concerns please do contact us either by telephone or via the company website.
How will you make sure it is safe?
Keeping children and staff safe is our utmost priority. As more children return to SenSI, we will be constantly reviewing the measures we have introduced and maintaining our new safety standards.
Our Risk assessment details and actions, in line with Government advice we have adequately prepared new safety measures to operate safely and minimise the spread of the virus.
Protective measures to reduce transmission include regular hand cleaning, hygiene and cleaning measures. There are posters throughout the building to remind you of this.
We appreciate your understanding while we work with these new measures.
